Translation note (1:5): ‘Woman’ and ‘wife’ are the same word in Hebrew. The Hebrew continues with this commentary: “This being said of one’s own wife, so much more so of a friend’s wife. Thus sages have said: So long as a man talks a lot with the woman, he causes evil to himself, neglects the study of the Torah, and in the end will inherit Gehinnom.”
